From May 5 to 9, 2025, Sirmione will host Photography as a Visual Poem, an exclusive photography workshop led by Jacob and Sara Aue Sobol, members of Magnum Photos, to discover and immortalize the poetry of everyday life in Sirmione.
The Photography as a Visual Poem workshop, created in collaboration with the Municipality of Sirmione, offers a unique opportunity for photographers to explore human connections through the photographic lens. Sirmione, with its timeless charm, will be the perfect stage to capture the essence of authentic connections between people, culture and landscape.
Jacob Aue Sobol, known for his intimate and poetic approach to photography, has explored themes of love and vulnerability in celebrated works such as Sabine and I, Tokyo. Sara Aue Sobol, Art Director and photographer, brings her experience gained between Italy, Denmark and international projects.
The workshop will culminate on May 9th with a public presentation of the participants’ works, an opportunity to share stories and inspirations.
This event follows the success of the 2022 Magnum Photos workshop, which saw Richard Kalvar as the protagonist, consolidating Sirmione as a point of reference for photography enthusiasts.
